This lovely song was written in 1988. “I read a poem on the newspaper and immediately I liked it. Afterwards, I started looking for the writer, finding a young pleasant man named INAZIO MUJIKA.
It was later, and inspired on the poem, that I wrote this work to be sung by children. At that time, I used to write lots of music for children. The onomatopoeia “LAFA”inspired me. I tried to play with this word as being the noise that a dog makes when drinking water with its tongue”.

* Spanish and English translation of the text is included for those who hardly recognize Basque language. Furthermore, a small introductory guide can be found in the score for a correct Basque pronunciation.
* This song has been recorded on a CD in 1996 by the choir “Kanta Cantemus Korua”, founded and conducted by the own composer, Javier Busto. The CD is available at the website and includes exclusively music composed by Javier Busto for female voices. Name of the CD: Javier Busto Musika.
